Zoom isn't always good

As I promised some here are some of the pics of tonight's thunderstorm.

The storm rolled through Manhattan around sunset -which was nice because then I could still use a long shutter and get some nice colors in the picture:


I was able to snap a good pic of the laundry house while the storm was coming in:


I kicked myself after this pic. I had zoomed in earlier for a different set of pictures and never reset my camera... this would have been the winner for the night if it wasn't zoomed in. :(

    You could probably win some type of photo contest with the one you think is the best -- At least make it into a large photo size and frame it. The zoomed one is really nice too, but the one you like is best because of the trees and dark/purple sky in the composition. Actually, the colors are very K-State Hockeyish.
