Lemmy's Pizzeria

Well since it doesn't take long to get stuff from my blog onto Google anymore I think that I should do a review about Lemmy's since there is nothing on the internet about it (...common who has a business without a web page these days?)

Lemmy's Pizzeria is in Manhattan Ks (66502 for all your searching needs). It is the latest restaurant to go into the building that once was the best BBQ in town -Cox Bros. I know what you are thinking, "Another pizza place in this town, that is the opposite of what we needed." That is what I thought too, but I still gave it a try.

The first thing I should mention is that their hours are from lunchtime (don't know the exact time) until 10pm. They are also closed on Mondays. The first thing that I noticed when I walked into Lemmy's is that it still looks like Cox. Sure there are a few new coats of paint, but for the most part everything is the same. This made me uneasy as I am not sure how good a place can be if it doesn't take on it's own identity. They at least still have regular live music guests though, so that is nice.

For dinner we ordered a family order of cheesy bread for an appetizer a large cheeseburger pizza and a large Loaded Lemmy's. We also got various sodas and tea, they have Pepsi to drink (which for me is a minus in the books). The cheesy bread arrived quickly and it was huge. For $6 the family cheesy bread alone is worth a trip to Lemmy's. I'm not saying that it is the best food in the world but it is a good deal on decent food. After we stuffed ourselves with cheesy bread the pizzas arrived. The large pizza's are about the same size as a large from Pizza Hut's, and they cost about $15. I had the cheeseburger pizza which was about your average pizza, the crust is somewhere between a pan pizza and a hand tossed from Pizza Hut and the toppings were very reminiscent of what Pizza Hut had before they went to “all fresh” ingredients. The pizza crust is good fresh, but I learned today that the leftover pizza crust gets a bit hard when microwaved (the pizza itself when microwaved performs just like any other nuked pizza).

In short: Overall I think Lemmy's fills a nice spot that is missed in Manhattan Pizza cuisine. It is a Chicago like pizza place that doesn't really taste like anything else we have. The prices are decent and if you get some cheesy bread with your pizza you will have ample leftovers. Expect to pay around $25 for two people (but remember to factor in saving money from leftovers). Lemmy's closes at 10 every night and is closed all day on Monday. It is worth checking out.

If you try it out let me know what you think of it.
p.s. La Fiesta is also a new restaurant in Manhattan, you can check out a very very short review about it here.

I think a Lemmy's large is about the size of a XL New Yorker, not just a large.

My family and I tried Lemmy's Pizza tonight and I had to look it up on the internet to see if someone did a review of it. Yours was the only one that came up when I googled. Unfortunately, we thought Lemmy's was just plain aweful. It didn't have any flavor at all. We ordered a large cheese, large sausage and a small mushroom. Our prediction is that it will not last as soon as the novelty wears off.

One more thing...Lemmy's needs to learn how to spell pizzeria before they spend money on a sign...

just so you know, pizzaria can be spelled with an a or an e. In Italy its with an e, in america its with an a. I also think Lemmys is the best Pizza in Manhattan by far.

Snow, dont you have anything better to do than pick apart peoples lives. I work at Lemmys and the owners have given everything to make that place work. They are there all day everyday and they care about the customers and their employees. Who are you to do a review on something you know nothing about. Get a life!!

@Last Anonymous comment.

If you read what I said you would have seen that I said that Lemmy's was ok. Other people have left comments and said that they didn't like it. That is their opinon.

I do take offense to you saying that I shouldn't write my own review, saying that I do not know anything about it. I am pretty sure I do know what I think tastes good, I also live in the United States so I am free to speak my opinion. If you want to talk about the people that own Lemmy's and what kind of good people they are go ahead. Start your own blog.

As for mine, I will say what I think.

sorry 'ookami snow', i was not talking to you, i was talking to the other anonymous writer that described the pizza as plain awful, and says it will not last. i respect that this is your blog and didn't mean at all to offend you.

I really like Lemmy's. I thought the pizza tasted the freshest out of all the pizzas I have had in Manhattan. It's a great locally owned restaurant. People should stop by and support it. But I think it is too bad it seems like no one knows it even exists. It's great food.

We just came back from Lemmys and the Pizza was great! We ordered cheesebread and a large half lemmy half meat. It was all very good and we had great service.

Most importantly... they have GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!!!! This is the only place in town who caters to people with gluten food alergies. For those who don't know, gluten is found in wheat, barley, rye, and oats: those make our choices very limited. TO have the option of going to a public place, and order like everyone else in my family, is priceless. Hope they are around for a long time. Thanks Lemmys!! =)

I LOVE Lemmy's! I have celiac disease (a gluten intolerance), which means I can't eat or drink anything with wheat, oats, rye, barley, or malt ... thus, no pizza or beer. Lemmy's is the ONLY restaurant that serves special gluten-free pizza (and beer) for the many folks like me in the area who can't eat gluten! THANK YOU LEMMY'S!!!! Loved the GF pizza and plan to eat their as often as possible!

there is not much you can say about lemmy's, other than the best pizza in the area. i dare anyone to eat this pizza and go anywhere else around and honestly say its better. the service there is great, the food is amazing, and if you are looking for good beer prices, its hard to top there prices. and yes, the have gluten free pizza and beer. ive talked many times the the owner mr. lemmy himself, and he is always trying to better his store. i've heard that bbq and alfredo pizza are to come as well :D try it, you will not want any other pizza again.
