Hotcorn

For some reason popping bubble wrap is really fun. Similarly popping kernels of corn with a sun is also really fun. The object of Hotcorn is to pop as many kernels as required in a given amount of time. When I explain it it sounds like it would be boring, but when I explain popping bubble wrap also doesn't sell it. This is one of those games that you just have to play to see why it is fun.

(So far I have got to level 34 with a high score of 30897.)

Tetris

I am not really a fan of normal Tetris. But there have been a few versions lately that are a bit more interesting. First is Human Tetris, which looks kind hard:

(You can see more of Human Tetris here.)

Another version of Tetris looks very easy and times, and very difficult at other times:

Finally, here is a version of Tertis that you can actually play at your computer. It is called Diggtris and it uses stories from Digg to make the bricks that fall. The amount of Diggs a story has determines the size of the piece, and the category that the story is in determines it's color. Check it out.

Shuffle

Since I have been doing most of my posts from cellphone lately I have been skimping on the internet games part of this blog. And it seems that someone in Japan likes the games that I post. So this one is for you.

Shuffle is a very simple game where you try to knock your opponents balls (the yellow ones) out of the ring (well it is a square... but anyways ) The only way you can knock the yellow balls out is by shooting your red balls at them. You get to pick which ball, how much power and at what angle, and then you let it fly. It is surprisingly addictive. Ch-ch-check it out.

My high score so far is 39,260.

Ellipsis

Imagine this: you are a circle, and the boxes are out to get you. Well wake up, because that is exactly what is happening right now, in Ellipsis! And we aren't talking just green boxes, but big blue boxes, yellow swerve-y boxes, light blue boxes that drag you around, and more! This isn't just about personal honor, this is about defending the honor of all round beings everywhere against the trespasses of those pokey corner wielding shapes. Now get out there and click like there is no tomorrow, and maybe you can save all Ellpsis-kind!

(My high score: 76,100. The Brass requests the you post your better scores.)

Chaos Faction

If you are a fan of Super Smash Brothers (which I am not) and even if you are not (which I am) then you may like Chaos Faction. Chaos Faction takes the idea of Super Smash Brothers and puts it on your computer and then also removes multiplayer. (It is also the most requested game to reviewed ever!)
But for some reason Chaos Faction is a really fun game. Maybe it is just because most online games that rely on alot of action usually sucks, but I do not get annoyed with this game like I would other similar games.
You know what it probably is? The ability to customize your furball, like Mr.Potato Head. And then after you pick all the parts the game automatically generates a name for him. That alone kept me entertained for a couple of minutes. To add to this further every time you beat a level you get new parts which leads to further odd combinations. Yup, that must be why I like this game and I don't care for Super Smash Brothers much. Call me a Mr.Potato Head snob.
But really, this is way more important than work. Check it out.

Four Second Fury

Four Second Fury is Waroware for your computer. The object of the game overall is to get past as many games as possible. The other object to the game is to try to figure out what the heck is going on in each mini game. It really is more fun than a dancing monkey. But you better get on and click to open up the game, it takes a minute to open up.

But in the mean-time you get to have a carrot dodge a bunch of blueberries, my record for that game is 99 (but I kinda cheated), my best time for the main game is 76 seconds in the original mode using a mouse, but I was using a track pad, which kinda sucks, I would suggest a mouse.

Scribble 2

Do you like to draw easy shapes? Do you like to connect dots? Is rainbow your favorite color? Well I have a game for you. The object to Scribble 2 is complete 20 connect the dot puzzles (drawings?) as quickly as possible. This is definitely a game where having a mouse is a plus, and having a tablet PC is even plus-ier. Just be careful because if you don't connect the dots right you have to start over, and that happens more times than you think. Clicky.

Territory War

Remember the game Worms? No, not that one, the other one, where they blow each other up. Well Territory War is alot like that one, but with less worms guts, and less weapons, but the same amount of death metal (there was death metal in Worms, right?) The objective in Territory War is to shoot, kick or blow up the opponent before he does it to you. Sounds simple right? Well it actually is, and it is funn too (ah the double n fun, a special designation). Clicky on over.

Tilt 2

I have another new game this time it is Tilt 2. All you have to do is keep the pole balanced on the end of your finger. You can move around using your mouse to keep your balance. Throughout the game you catch balls which makes it harder to keep the pole balanced. And you just keep playing until you drop the pole. Simple enough. Give it a shot (or five).
My high score so far: 3092

Pants Volcano

How is the randomizer in your head doing? If it needs a tune up Pants Volcano will be able to get it back to thinking in completely random terms. The object of Pants Volcano is to collect stars by hitting them with a piece of broccoli. You bounce the piece of broccoli around by shooting it with objects coming from a volcano. You get to aim the volcano to shot the things at the broccoli, and then you fire the fish bones, bread, pants and whatever else from the volcano. You know what, just go check it out.

My high score is 6025. Beat that.

Snowball

Did you know that the only thing that can stop a snowball rolling down a hill is a house? Trees will slow it down, but not stop it. Now if we take this fun fact and make it a game we get Snowball.

The object of this game is to make your snowball as large as possible by rolling up things inside of it. The only controls you have are moving the ball left and right as it rolls down a the hill. It isn't the most complicated game but it is a good diversion from lunch, you don't want to eat that. Check out this game instead.

My high score so far is 1782lbs. Check back for more games later.

GamePure - Oshidama Plus

Since I am up I figured that I would get a jump on posting games for the week.

Oshidama Plus is a simple game where you try to get a bubble into it's home. The way you move the bubble is by touching it with your cursor and this taps the bubble along. There usually are a couple of objects in the way, these objects bounce your bubble around, suck the bubble toward it, or even kill it. So finesse will be needed.

My favorite mode of play is Time Attack where you try to finish each level as quickly as possible. So far my best times on the first three levels are:
Training: 37.04Sec
Level 1: 1:40.55
Level 2: 1:46.05

I know there is alot of things that you *should* be doing right now, but you know what? take a couple of minutes and enjoy your Monday morning with a nice game of Oshidama Plus. You deserve it, especially after last weekend, geez.

Oh, and remember to check back up throughout the day, I plan to get a couple more games up.

Tabuto

I try not to post too many games, but when I came across Tabuto it was such a good compare/contrast to 360 Supreme Catcher that I couldn't pass up the post.

In Tabuto the object of the game it to catch the falling tiles, which is similar to 360 Catcher, but in Tabuto all you have to do is touch the tiles with the mouse controlled arrow. Tabuto doesn't rely on more complexity to make the game harder, it just makes the tiles fall faster and faster. In Tabuto your game is over when you miss a total of 20 tiles, which does not reset at each level as 360 Catcher does.

Coincidently I can not get past level 7 in either game. My high score for this game is 888240. Try out both games and let me know which one you like better.

360 Supreme Catcher

Have I got a game for you. 360 Supreme Catcher seems like an easy enough game, all you have to do is catch the balls that are falling by moving the bar on the bottom on the screen back and forth with your arrow keys. And for the first two levels it isn't that bad, but then they make things go fast. Then they throw in a new twist, there is two colors and you must change your paddle to match the color of the ball that you are trying to catch. You do this by using the 'a' and 's' keys. Oh and you can only miss 10 balls per level.

I can't get past level 7 no matter how hard I try. You should give it a go.

Boxhead

You know what your day needs more of? Killing zombies.

That is why I suggest you stop doing whatever you are doing right now... well besides reading my blog, keep doing that, but stop doing whatever else, and check out the game called Boxhead.

Basically you are trying to kill a bunch of zombies with various weapons. You move around with the arrow keys and you shoot with the space bar. Throughout the game you get better weapons and equipment, which you can select with the number keys. It has all the makings of an awesome game. (i.e. zombies + guns)

Hurry though, zombies are attacking and it is up to you to kill them all. Don't let us all down by doing other less important things like "work" or "studying", they are zombies and if you don't kill them who will? Save us!

Bee Dodger

The bee has a very hard life. There are bee stingers to avoid, normal bees all over the place, and jumbo blimp bees that get in the way, all the while you have to collect coins and medic symbols. All for what? Not much, you just see how long you can live for.

Now luckily for us, we aren't bees, and a simulation game about being a bee is actually a fun thing to play. I don't think you could find a more realistic simulation of a bee's life than this one so check it out.

How far can you buzz along before you are food for ants? I've got a high score of 13208.
p.s. the music in the game rocks.

Tower of Moai

This game takes a minute to load, so you best get on that now. Tower of Moai is a sequel of sorts to the fun game Nest of Moai. This time around you are trying to get the faces off the top of a tower via a randomly moving ladder. Where ever you point with the mouse the heard of Moais go, but be careful, if you get too many on one edge of the tower the tower will tip and the Moai will fall off. The game is broken into three rounds, the first two rounds seem to be the same, while the third round has a special magic dust thing that makes the heads grow.

My high score for the day is 1562, which by the way, is calculated from the heads that you rescue and is not the actual number that I saved.

Neon

The second game in my Friday game trifecta is Neon. This is a shooting type game that almost reminds me of asteroids. I usually don't like this kind of game but i think the combinations of power-ups and the right level of craziness makes this one a keeper. Just a note though; kill the blue plus things as fast a possible, they are evil.

When I found this game a couple of days ago I rocked it hard, but I didn't write down my high score, the best I can do right now is 27,140. I think if you put some good effort into your time wasting you could easily beat that score. Be on the look out for the last game in my game trifecta later on today. Rock, rock on.

SpeedCluster

For all of your time wasting needs I present to you SpeedCluster. In Speed Cluster you have a hand that you play on falling cards, you may build the stack up and down using numbers and face cards, like in a standard deck of playing cards. The larger the stack gets by the time it leaves the screen the more points you get. The game starts out slow but before you know it you will be trying to just get some stacks made. This game is quite fun and very addictive. Give it a shot.

I plan to post two more games today, so be sure to come back, but if you can't wait to play more games I have added a link to all of the games that I have posted about, just click the first link in the right sidebar. Enjoy.

p.s. My high score (i.e. Get C.P. at the end of the game) is 1934, and that was on my first try. I have only got close to that once since then. What scores are you getting?

Friday Survival Guide

You can see the light at the end of the tunnel, that's right, it's Friday. Now you just have to make it through the day so that you can get home an live it up. I am here to help you through your day. The three pillars of Friday are; Live Through Friday, Enjoy Friday, and Waste Time Like it is Saturday.

First you just need to live through Friday. Be it a wild animal on the loose, of a pesky boss who wants you to come in on Saturday, you need to learn how to protect yourself if you want to live through Friday. A weapon that any Friday Survivor needs to learn to make is a Chap Stick rocket:

Lip Balm Secret Missile!! - video powered by Metacafe

Ok now that you can protect yourself against packs of roving "ne'er do gooders" we can move on to Enjoying Friday. I know the bast way to enjoy Friday. It involves bad drivers and videos:

Ok now that you are enjoying Friday let's move on. The last step to surviving Friday is to waste time like it is Saturday. What is the best way to waste time? Why by playing Bubble Island of course. All you do in try to make stacks of four bubbles, pressing the space bar drops the bubbles, and pressing space bar again while in the air flips the bubbles.

Congratulations! You are well on your way to Surviving Friday. Keep the three rules in mind and live by them, it will save your life someday... maybe.
