It's about that time of the year again and since the blogs that I keep up with are dropping like flies it's about time that I find some new favorite blogs (Last year's results). This year's competition will again feature a field of 32 blogs in a double elimination tournament. However, this year I would like to make up the field of blogs from suggestions from my readers. So if you write a blog, or know a good blog give me a link to it and I'll get it in the competition.
The blogs that I am looking for have the following qualities:
1. It is updated at least once every
2. It should not be a major blog. I would rather include blogs with smaller readerships. If each post gets in the upper teens or more of comments each time they already have enough people reading their blog. Let's focus on the little guys.
3. If you are already listed on the right sidebar of my blog you can not compete (you already write one of my favorite blogs.) However I would really like for you to suggest a couple of blogs to include.
4. If you played last year and didn't win you can play this year again if you want.
5. I am sure there are more qualities I am looking for, I just can't think of them right now.
I will be taking blog suggestions for the next couple of weeks, or until I get 32 blogs. If I don't get enough suggestions I will fill the rest of the field and the competition will begin. Then I will check on the blogs every couple of days and determine which one moves on to the next round, until I find My New Favorite Blog. Keep tuned for the start of the tournament.
If you read (or write) a good blog leave me a comment!

The readership may be too high on this one, but if it is, just don't add it of course. I've become an addict of www.io9.com since it started a few weeks back. Lots of good, random... sci-fi........ stuff. It doesn't really fit into one category just because there is... stuff... about tv, movies, books, architecture, history and everything inbetween.
That is a fun blog, but you are right it is too big, sometimes they get more than 40 comments.
Bookmarked though.
Thanks for swinging by my blog though I am not sure how you got there.
My blogs don't get updated often enough. If I get around to it...once a week so that leaves me out of the competition (and rightly so).
I saw GamesWorkshop in your profile..do you play warhammer? And if so, fantasy or 40K?
But this: Quit your dayjob
is a nice blog which get's updated often enough.
I enjoyed being a competitor last year, but I admit, my posts have slacked off and I don't think I can manage once every three days....not consistently, anyway.
But, I do look forward to seeing how the competition unfolds this year! I wish I had one to recommend, but like you mentinoed, a lot of the ones I read are also dropping like flies!
Good luck!

Try some of the links off my page. Good Luck!
@jon- I was looking around to see what kind of blogs I would like to include in the competition, I think I got there from SCUBA... don't remember how I got to SCUBA though.
@arjan- I play Fantasy of those two, I have bought every edition of 40k for the last 10 years or so, but I have never played a full game. The games I really like though are Necromunda, Epic, and Blood Bowl.
Yes, I will include Quit your dayjob in the competition.
@valerie- does once every five days sound more realistic? I would be willing to change that requirement.
@kat- I will go there to fill out the roster first. If need be.
You can try my buddy Slyde's blog if you'd like:
http://www.slydesblog.com/
If only so I can make fun of him when he loses to a knitting blog or something in the first round.
I'll add him in the tourney.
Some knitted stuff can be real cool:

my blog if fodder. pure and simple random nothingness.
watch or not. its kinda like the traffic entry, you never know when there is going to be a crash.
@melanie. Deal. You're in. I love to read me some crashes in blog form. Which blog do you want me to check up on?
I like Limpy's blog:

I could never be in this competition. There are times when I don't update for weeks (stupid work). I can't wait to see how your contest comes out.
Callie thanks for the recommendation. I'll include the blog in the competition.
see...you already got 2 or 3 off my links. Mel and Slyde...and I'll nominate Earl cause he didn't do it himself ;o)
Earl's in.
Hey ookami, thanks for dropping by my page. Try "Egomania & Dipshittery" by ryan lawson. I don't know how to make a link in this comment box :(
Thanks for the suggestion Sugar Smacks, I'll add the Egomaniac to the competition.
Hey! 5 days is about what I average, but I don't want you to change your whole competition because of me. I'll leave it up to you if you want to include me again! :o)
Valerie- 5 days means I will have to check up less and give me more time to get everything typed up, so it's not a big deal. I'll throw you in the mix.
Sounds good! Looking foward to the competition! :o)
Um... I left a message that i was in, but it's not showing up here. I'm in. As opposed to last year's competition, I don't plan on losing for a lack of posting. Also, I operate a haiku blog that I'm going to start updating at least once a week again. That one can be in, too.
@think- I will count them both in.
I know, I can't manage to write anymore, except for my new project, the dickblog. This has been one of my favorites for the better part of 3 years-- http://presentsimple.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add it to the competition.
globus votes for bug eyed earl. especially now he's pimped his blog and made it look all pretty like.
