Nicoles mom thought of a place that she wanted to take us for lunch (Nicole and I, Maria left to go back to Garden after looking at the house) while she was running around town doing paperwork stuff for the house. She thought that we would like to go to Uptown Bistro, which happened to be located in Old Town. Old Town is a new development in the middle of Wichita where they are taking the old big brick buildings and turning them into high density commercial and residential, it is a very cool place to walk around, and it happens to be the location of the Warren (which we went to awhile ago). The food at Uptown Bistro rocked, and everything was about $8, and since they gave you more than enough food per lunch it was a much better restraint to eat at than the Canyon.

That is making me sad that they're redoing Old Town then... That was part of the charm was the old buildings, not remaking them into hi-rise areas :( They were fighting to keep that area as is not too long ago if I remember correctly. I guess big business won out :( It was awesome going to shows at the Farm and Art Market... there was an old hotel across the street from it that got turned into apartments.. people literally were sitting on their window sills catching the outdoor shows. *sigh* stupid hi-rises ruining what is already awesome.

They are leaving the old buildings, they are just actually doing something with them.

And as far as I can tell they aren’t building new hi-rise buildings.
