L.A., State Warned on NFL

Los Angeles Times (article)

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has emphasized, however, that he does not support the use of public money when it comes to bringing an NFL team to L.A.
Timing is an issue in the push to put a new or relocated NFL franchise in the Coliseum. The NFL has set a late October deadline for all competing L.A.-area stadium sites to have ready-to-sign deals in place. The league has indicated that, if it selects the Coliseum proposal, it would build a $500-million facility inside the historic stadium's existing walls.

Hey San Antonio, it looks like you might get a football team after all. (The obvious move is for the Saints to go to LA at least while New Orleans is rebuilding, but if LA doesn't want them San Antonio might have a good shot at keeping the team temporally, at least for the next couple of years.)

At least if they went to LA the team name would make more sense... Los Angeles Saints? Get it? ha.
