Buy the NHL?

ESPN.com (article)

An investment firm and a sports advisory company reportedly made a joint proposal to buy all 30 NHL teams for as much as $3.5 billion.

This was by far the most unexpected news for the day. I think that the NHL is on it's way out, and i think the owners know it. If they were to sell the NHL it could be the boost it needs in interest that it has been missing lately (well, the and games...). But this could also lead to a quick death of the NHL as well, if it isn't profitable... either way sounds interesting to me.

The topic of the NHL buyout lead to a good conversation with amber about what the NHL should do in general and what got them in trouble in the first place... she blames the players for being to greedy, i blame the owners for giving players too much money.

in any case, this is some interesting news.
