For the last few months, San Antonio’s Alamodome had been regarded as a possible future home for the Wizards, who were put up for sale by owner Lamar Hunt in December.
But San Antonio mayor-elect Phil Hardberger told reporters in his first news conference Wednesday that he was not interested in Major League Soccer coming to his city.
When asked what he would tell the league, Hardberger said, “Goodbye. That’s what I would tell MLS.”
Well the deal to bring a MLS team to San Antonio fell apart. I guess that is good for KC since it looked like the Wizards were going to be the team to move down there, but all is not good still for KC they will still probably lose the team.
