T-Mobile Scores Highest With J.D. Powers

Designtechnica (article)

While T-mobile may not have the best nationwide coverage, their customers are happy overall. The award was given because T-mobile answers customer’s calls promptly and resolves customer issues, often during the first call.

In my very slow quest for a mobile phone this is one more reason that my first look will be at T-Mobile. (The other reason is that their two phone plan is about $10 cheaper per month than the rest.) So in about 3 years you might be able to find me actually actively trying to get a mobile phone plan. (Hopefully sooner than that. ^_^)

Since I'm out of the wireless secret shop business (can't now that I'm employed by a wireless company)... I will give you some advice. I have heard more people complain about T*mobile, and have heard more people complain at the kiosks about them than most companies. Their service is shaky and a little less than completely reliable, and their coverage isn't the best either. (Consider this... going to GC you won't have service, according to Tmobile's website)

I'm not going to be biased about this though, I can't say "Go with Cellular One..." for several reasons: I don't even have the service I work with, and their coverage doesn't go out west either. At least they backed down and took back the idea of putting up the tower in Aggieville.

I've been with Alltel for about 6 years now and have been very happy. They have a good coverage area for the area, and especially if you're on a national plan, I've never had an issue with placing receiving calls (except in Hale Library's basement... I went on ANALOG for crying out loud). Plus.. you'd be able to call Chris and Jenette, and me, for that matter, for free with mobile-to-mobile minutes.

Cingular doesn't have service in Manhattan, or GC.. or Hays.. or...

If you want to know about Sprint, you should ask Aaron (of course he doesn't have service in a lot of places, like Hays and GC which we found out over Christmas and then a few weekends back)...

I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T go with T*mobile, or CellularONE, or that you SHOULD go with Alltel, but just throwing some bits out there. Definitely do your research.

I have been doing research. All the cell companies blow, and all charge way too much, with a shotty product. When i was looking about three months ago T-Mobile looked the best. But since all the cell companies suck i didn't get a cell phone...

I will not give money to companies that are not good.
(I guess that means that VISA must be *real* good.)

Mike and I like t-mobile a lot. We got cute little phones and never really have problems with them. The only place that the phones don't work is the stretch between Jetmore and Garden (and my alltell service didn't work there either). Once in Garden it picks up some other cell phone (Western Wireless or something). Of course since they have free roaming it's no big deal. I used to have alltell in GC. They were okay and my parents still have it, but they don't exist up here so that was easy to decide to not get them. Sprint charges way too much.
